Miley and Rihanna raise eyebrows at amfAR gala

Miley Cyrus and Rihanna are well known for outrageous costumes, so it’s a surprise that anyone bats an eye when they show up on a red carpet in something outre.

But they both managed to get tongues wagging and self-appointed censors squawking at the Los Angeles amfAR Inspiration Gala fundraiser for AIDs research on Wednesday night. It seems they let the girls out.

Miley’s black Tom Ford gown featured sequined straps that crisscrossed over the bodice to just barely cover the essentials for what the Huffington Post called a “bondage vibe.” Much of her breasts, hips and tummy were on display.

Rihanna wore a look from Ford’s spring 2015 collection that featured sparkling pasties on the top. And she styled it as Ford did on the runway, with black thigh-high stockings, revealed under the slit skirt.

“It was really only a matter of time before she wore the polarizing gown,” according to Erica Schwiegershausen at the Cut blog.

“They went too far,” said TMZ. “They went to a Halloween party dressed as charity escorts. Wait, it wasn’t a Halloween party? Our mistake.”
