Authorities are investigating the death of a second man on an L.A.-area freeway early Thursday, but say so far there is no indication the incidents are related.

Shortly after 3:30 a.m. Thursday, Glendora police received a call regarding the discovery of man’s body near the Sunflower Avenue offramp, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Carmen Arballo.

When officers arrived, they discovered the man had multiple gunshot wounds to his chest.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives are assisting Glendora police in the investigation, which temporarily closed the offramp.

At about the same time, authorities got another call about a body on the 101 Freeway near the Silver Lake Boulevard offramp, but it was not immediately clear how the man died.

The California Highway Patrol identified him only as a 33-year-old man from Bell. Coroner’s officials could not immediately be reached.

Officials said that there did not appear to be any evidence linking the two deaths, but the investigations were in their early stages.
