Couple who planted drugs in PTA president’s car must pay $5.7 million, jury decides
An Orange County couple has been ordered to pay $5.7 million for planting drugs in the car of a former PTA president.
The Orange County Register reported that a jury made the award Friday to Kelli Peters in a lawsuit she brought against Kent and Jill Easter.

Peters says she was humiliated and the Irvine couple have never shown remorse for their actions.
Authorities say the couple planted prescription painkillers, marijuana and a pot pipe in Peters’ car in 2011 and then called police, who briefly detained her at Plaza Vista School in Irvine.
The couple had an ongoing dispute with Peters over what they believed was improper treatment of their son.
The Easters were earlier convicted of false imprisonment and spent several months in jail.
