18-year-old arrested in fatal Sherman Oaks hit-and-run
An 18-year-old Sherman Oaks woman was arrested Monday in a hit-and-run that left a woman dead over the weekend, police said.
Lerone Natalia Herscu is suspected of striking and killing the victim with her car around 2:20 a.m. Sunday on Moorpark Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police have said the hit-and-run driver made a U-turn and stared at the victim in the street before driving away.
The victim was crossing Moorpark between Stern and Matilija avenues with a male companion when she was struck. They were not in a crosswalk, police said.
Herscu is suspected of felony hit-and-run. She is being held in lieu of $50,000.
Police described the victim only as a 19-year-old woman, but multiple news outlets have said her name is Nysbuh Imann Taylor.
