‘Saturday Night Live’ alum Dana Carvey and Jon Lovitz team up for Las Vegas show

Yeah, that’s the ticket! Former “Saturday Night Live” comedians Jon Lovitz and Dana Carvey are performing together again in Las Vegas. Well, isn’t that special?

The veterans of the TV show from the late 1980s, Carvey and Lovitz just launched “Reunited,” a 10-weekend, 20-gig comedy show in the Foundry, an 1,800-seat showroom at SLS Las Vegas.

“This is brand new. We’ve never done any shows together,” Lovitz says of the 90-minute show that’s divided into three parts.

The comedic pair, who have been good friends since their SNL days, begin the show together onstage. They share a few laughs and show some old TV clips such as Carvey’s “Church Lady” skit with the memorable line, “Well, isn’t that special?”

Longtime fans will also remember Lovitz’s lovable liar, Tommy Flanagan, who ended his outrageous, bogus boasts with the words, “Yeah, that’s the ticket.”

The two then take turns doing individual standup routines.

“I play the piano, I make fun of myself. I sing silly songs and talk about what’s going on in the world,” Lovitz explains. Carvey, an accomplished drummer, also performs a bit of music during his portion of the show.

“We’ll kind of evolve the show as we go along,” Carvey says.

“He [Lovitz] is certifiably one of the funniest humans,” he adds. “He makes me laugh a lot. That’s the fun part of it for me.”

“We make each other laugh and we both have a very silly sense of humor,” Lovitz says. “We didn’t get to work together too much on ‘Saturday Night Live,’ but whenever we did, I could feel the chemistry. It was really fun working with him and he felt the same way.”

Toward the end of the evening, the two chat with the audience during a question-and-answer session.

“Reunited” launched Friday. The next performances will be Feb. 3 and 4. More dates will follow in March, May, June, September and October.

Tickets cost $49 to $89.

Lovitz also is a contestant on “The New Celebrity Apprentice” that launched Jan. 2. Previously hosted by President-elect Donald Trump, the TV show now stars former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
